Northern Ireland
Depaul Ireland's services expanded in 2004 to Northern Ireland. Our first projects opened up in Belfast and we have since expanded to working in Dungannon.
In Belfast we run a number of accommodation projects including: Stella Maris, a hostel with specialist services for street drinkers, as well as Mater Dei and Cloverhill, two housing projects providing supported accommodation for homeless families. Additionally, we run a training programme for disadvantaged young people called Drive Ahead, an employment-training programme.
In 2009, we expanded our work outside of Belfast and opened our fifth project in Northern Ireland called Castlehill project, based in Dungannon.
Most recently in Northern Ireland, Depaul amalgamated with an existing service in Derry/Londonderry for street drinkers in 2011 called Foyle Haven.
