[Updated] Volunteer Wins a Ireland Involved Award
One of Depaul Ireland's volunteers, William Cassidy, has been shortlisted in the Social Work category of the Ireland Involved Awards. A national award scheme showcasing the work of volunteers across the country and celebrating Ireland's volunteers! So many Depaul volunteers are deserving of a nomination and know that William will be bringing the support of all staff, volunteers, service users and supporters of Depaul Ireland to the award ceremony on Monday 5th December 2011.
William came to know Depaul as a service user in Back Lane hostel over 4 years ago. Through the support of Back Lane and the Community Befriending Programme, William has turned his life around and is now looking forward to an exciting and postive future.
Over the past year, William has made an impressive impact in Depaul Ireland. He has gone from strength to strength as an active volunteer with the Community Befriending Team and in Back Lane Hostel.
He has also volunteered to help raise awareness about the work of Depaul. He has shared experiences, energy and enthusiasm with people wanting to learn more by speaking a schools, volunteering with the Life's No Picnic on the Streets project at Electric Picnic and agreeing for his story to be shared as part of the Blanket Appeal.
If you would like to add you congratulations on the nomination and well wishes for the award ceremony, you can do so on William's Ireland Involved profile page.
