Green fingers among us.
Over the summer three Depaul projects have been busy in their gardens:![]()
Tus Nua has two volunteers who spend time there weekly helping the women to maintain their garden and make the best use of their fantastic outdoor space.
Our Community Befriending Programme has introduced a gardening
element to the supoprt they provide. One of the volunteers, who is a botanist, has arranged 2 boxes at an alloment in Dublin 7. Many of the particpants attend the allotment twice weekly to grow vegetables, which they will soon be able to use themselves at home!
Residents in Sundial House work on their roof top garden all year round. They have a special recycled element to how they grow their fruit and vegetables with used rubber tyres acting as support for their tomato plants and beer cans in place to collect the water. Their very own irrigation system!
This year they are growing all sorts of herbs, vegetables and delicious raspberries.
