Celebration in Action. Depaul Ireland marks its 10th Anniversary!

Depaul Ireland About Us Wordle Tag Cloud

Depaul Ireland celebrates its 10th anniversary during 2012. Over these years it has grown from a small Dublin based charity to an influential organization which addresses homelessness in Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. To celebrate our commitment of supporting people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage we are encouraging our supporters to get involved in our work in 10 different ways!

1. Social Media Champions

Are you a keen user of Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube, WordPress and/or LinkedIn? Become our ambassador and help us raise awareness about our work with homeless and vulnerable people in Ireland! It's simple to get involved: follow us on social media channels and share our updates with your friends and followers. We can be sure it will make a significant impact on our work!

2. Community Fundraising Event

We welcome schools, universities, churches and any other communities and groups to support our work with the homeless! It can be simply an informative evening about homelessness or a full-on fundraising event! Quizzes, concerts, dance evenings, karaoke nights, brunches, art classes, movie discussions. Bring difference with a charitable message to your community!

3. Party & Fundraise

Bored of usual getting together with friends? Shake up your crowd a bit and raise money for the homeless! Organize Gangster Poker Party, Hawaii Luau, Wine Tasting, Pirate Battles, Venetian Carnival, Pool Competition. Reveal your rich imagination for a good cause!

4. Adventure Challenge

Active, adventurous and socially conscious?! Does this describe you? Ready to do something extraordinary and meaningful? Then accept an adventure challenge for the homeless! Go for a cycling trip, organize climbing, hiking, kayak-paddling or bungee jumping! Obvious advantages: adrenaline in your blood, memories in your mind and charitable contributions to our service users.

5. Back on Your Feet

Are you ready to get off the couch and Back on Your Feet for 2012? Let's walk, jog, run, swim and help homeless people to get back on their feet and make positive steps towards their future!

6. Corporate Involvement

We welcome companies which believe in our values and strive to be  socially responsible participants in the community they serve. We seek to develop trustworthy and mutually beneficial partnership with business in Ireland. Choose us as your Charity of the Year, raise funds during your corporate events, sponsor our projects, encourage employees to volunteer with us, spread a word about our work or organize gift-in-kinds collections. We are grateful for any help you can give us to raise funds for most vulnerable people experiencing homelessness.

7. Set up a single donation

Any amount you can donate will be appreciated! Any 5, 10, 20 euro will ensure that a person who is in need, who is isolated and seeks support can access our help daily.

8. Set up a regular monthly donation

You might consider setting up a monthly donation which will make a significant contribution to our work. Also note that if you pay tax in Ireland via the PAYE system and make a total annual contribution to Depaul Ireland over €250 (as little as €21 a month), then we are eligible to claim for tax relief on your donations. This will provide us with additional funds at no cost to you.

9. Volunteering Opportunities

Depaul Ireland's volunteer programme is designed to enable active individuals to become involved in our work and develop new skills. In addition, it gives us an opportunity to provide emotional and practical support to our service users. Volunteers may choose to participate in variety of existing activities or develop their own. Depending on your interests you may participate in life skills activities, creative workshops, educational quizzes, music nights, sport activities, social events, cultural outings, etc. Remember that each chat and each cup of tea with a service user is so much appreciated and so much needed. For more information, please, visit our volunteer section.
