Since opening its doors ten years ago, Depaul Ireland has been using creative and innovative approaches to help the most isolated and in need people experiencing homelessness in Ireland, providing accommodation, respect and a professional, often life-saving, service tailored to the individual needs of each person.

William was a Depaul service user for two years.

After a bad break-up he became homeless and suicidal, turning to drugs to help him forget. But, with a safe place to stay and the encouragement and 24 hour a day support of Depaul's staff, William started to take control of his life and became the first Peer Support volunteer in Depaul Ireland's Befriending Programme. He now uses his own experience to show people who are homeless that change is possible.

William has also recently been nominated and shortlisted for his volunteer work with Depaul Ireland as part of the Ireland Involved Awards. Read more about his nomination here.

Depaul needs to be able to continue to provide William, and hundreds of other homeless people across Ireland, with the tailored emotional and practical warmth, comfort and security they need.

You can help us do this by supporting our Blanket Appeal today.
