Warmth
Every night of the year Depaul provides hundreds of homeless people around the world with a warm, safe place to stay, somewhere they can call home. That's just the start of the tailored support each and every person gets from Depaul's trained staff and volunteers to ensure they feel cared for and able to start to take control of their own lives. This can involve accessing mental health and other medical services, learning how to manage their finances or simply feeling able to talk to and trust someone for the first time in years.
The warmth and support continue beyond Depaul's projects too. When service users are ready to move into a place of their own, they know Depaul's staff are still there for them, and volunteers - often former service users - on the befriending schemes visit at least once a week to catch up over a cup of tea and prevent the feelings of isolation that can lead to a relapse.
